Talk: Plone 3: a swiss army knife to build web portals and extranets
Plone is a CMS, it may be used to build web portals, news sites, extranets, groupware, e-commerce among others. This talk will introduce Plone 3 main features and tools showing how to use them for custom needs. It will also show case studies of Plone in government, extranet and and commercial web sites.
Lighting Talk: CommunesPlone, a governmental free software community
13 Belgian communes and 2 French Mairies participate in the CommunesPlone project. In doing so, they aim to gain independence from IT services providers by developing, essentially by themselves and in a cooperative manner, applications and websites for their own use as well as for their citizens’. CommunesPlones strategy mainly rests on two renowned multiplatform Open Source tools: Zope and Plone. The lighting talk will introduce the project, current state and perspectives.
